Hibernation Settings How to enable manually

Hibernation Settings (Manual Process)

  1. Click on Start Button
  2. Click on the Windows button and click on Control Panel.
  3. Within the control panel, scroll down and click on the Power Options icon.

  1. Click on the Change plan settings blue text next to Balanced (recommended) (circled in red below).

  1. In the window that appears, click on the Change advanced power settings blue text at the bottom (circled in red below).

  1. Click on the Change settings that are currently unavailable in blue at the top of the window (outlined in red in the picture below). Enter your username and password.
  2. In the list of settings scroll down to Sleep. Double click on Sleep and then double click on Hibernate after.
  3. If you are using a laptop, click on Plugged in and change the value from 360 to 0. Then click on the OK button at the bottom.
    If you are using a desktop, click on Setting (Minutes) and change the value from 360 to 0. Then click on the OK button at the bottom.

  1. To confirm the settings have been set, click on the Change advanced power settings blue text (as seen in step 5) and open the Sleep setting to confirm the hibernate setting is set to Never.

  1. Close down all windows by clicking on the OK button (or Cancel button where OK is not available).
